FYI
Hello to everyone who reads this. I just want to let everyone know that I am no longer going to be blogging weekly. I am feeling it is more of a job than a pasttime, and since I am not currently enjoying it, I am going to stop. I will most likely post once a month, so look in early February for an update on JohnJohn. ~~Trish

Happy New Year!
Not much going on here. JohnJohn is sitting up all the time, is enjoying playing with his toys, and loves to eat oatmeal! He is up to 16 lbs, 11.5 oz!! We are truly fortunate that he is such a happy-go-lucky boy. The stinker still hates tummy time and is not really showing interest in crawling as he hates to put weight on his upper arms. However, he has been talking up a storm lately, which is really funny to hear.
JJ is starting to be very clingy! We're not sure if it is teething or the beginning of the whole separation anxiety stage, but he wants to be held a lot. He has also been waking up a number of times in the night; Friday night JJ was up from 1-3:30am, wanting to be held and falling alseep on us, then waking up/crying every time we tried to put him back in his bed. Then all day Saturday he was clingy/crying and would NOT nap at all. He finally fell asleep (on me!) around 4 and stayed asleep when I put him in his bed to sleep- he slept for about 2.5 hours, and then slept most of last night as well, waking up but going back to sleep quickly. He has this weird quirk, though: when he rolls onto his side to sleep, he wants to put his face nose-down, pressed against the sheet. We don't see how that can be comfortable or conducive to breathing, but he's doing it. If we can do it without waking him, we turn his head a little so it isn't quite so turned down....
I go back to work tomorrow and am both looking forward to it and dreading it! It is going to be hard being away from JJ after being with him daily for 2 straight weeks, but it will be nice because Jim and I are getting a student teacher, who starts tomorrow. She doesn't take over for me for a couple of weeks, but she will be helping out, and it will be good to have an extra set of hands in the classroom.
The poll results are in.... e-way ave-hay o-tay each-tay ohn-Jay ig-pay atin-lay en-whay e-way each-tay im-hay ign-say anguage-lay! Going to be tough, but apparently babies learn foreign languages easily....
New poll next week....
Today's pictures: John with his cousins from their visit last week; JJ sitting up/playing with blocks; JJ in his high chair- he looks so big! and the little Monkey grabbing his foot- it was on its way to his mouth, or one the way out, I can't remember which!
Today's video: JohnJohn singing while playing the drums. It cracks us up, he loves to do this!
