Finally, a new post! I'm sure everyone is dying to know what's been going on. Well, here it goes:
We went to Easley to see Grammy and Poppy. It was John's first out-of-town trip, and he did really well. We planned our travel time to coincide with John's naptime, which worked out perfectly. It was a hassle trying to pack everything and remember everything we needed. That will get easier when he is eating the same foods we are.
Nana came to visit and brought James. We had fun, but somehow I got stuck with every poopy diaper that weekend, even though I called "Not It" each time. Nana was usually last to say those magic words, if she said them at all, but she said she changed enough poopy diapers with the four of us, and that was that. Other than that, it was fun.
John is still not an official crawler, but he gets around. He rolls and scoots and belly crawls to get where he wants/reach toys that he wants. Of course, we think it is cute to watch.
He is also making raspberries. He started out just making them by sucking his bottom lip up and then blowing out, and now he can make them by sticking out his tongue and blowing. Messy!
John finally has at least one tooth coming in on the bottom. It has broken the skin, and hopefully won't be too much of a pain coming the rest of the way in.
We've started him on some stage 3 (less pureed) baby food, and he is NOT fond of it. He doesn't like the little pieces of solid foods that are in it and gags, but he's getting past it. We aren't feeding him this every day, though, since it makes him gag and then he spits up. Hopefully this will improve with more exposure. He weighs about 18 pounds now!
We took John to our neighborhood playground this weekend since it was in the mid-to-high 60s. There were some other kids, all older, but John enjoyed it. We walked there; it is not that far from home but not fun to walk to since there is a hill to get up. Fortunately for me, Bill pushed the stroller!
