Another weekend update

Ok, so the next time SaraBeth calls and says she's going to be in the Atlanta area and wants us to come meet her so she can see John..... somebody slap me to remind me that SB has NO sense of directions! SB was in town with her friend Gracie for Gracie's brother's soccer tournament (we know Gracie and her brother, she and SB have been friends forever). So Friday SB calls and says she'll be in town, and while trying to find out where, figured out it was somewhere near Perimeter Mall, near Northside Hospital where John was born. I should have known SB wouldn't really know where they were, because she is scatterbrained (but I love her dearly). And yes, Gracie's dad did say it was near Perimeter Mall, I heard him in the background on the phone Friday night. Turns out, after we were down in that area, that the tournament was much closer to our house, not anywhere near where Bill and I were. The thing that was typical SB was that she pays no attention to street signs, etc, so she couldn't tell us even what street they were on, or other street names nearby. Gracie, however, was able to tell us where they were, and so Bill and I drove John over there- thanks Gracie! Seriously, though, I'm glad we took John to see her. She was so happy to be able to hold him because, in her words, she's been "waiting 4 months to hold him". Unfortunately, it was hotter than heck, so we didn't stay long because John is like his Mommy and Daddy, he doesn't like the heat much, and he was getting a heat rash.

Earlier in the week, I got to stay home one day. Monday night Bill threw up a couple of times, so I decided to stay home on Tuesday to take care of John. It was nice to have a day off where I could sleep a little more. Of course, John had been up from 2-4 that morning, and I was up with him since Bill was sick. I also had a cold that was developing, so the day off was nice. Of course, I still have a bit of congestion, but John seems to be doing ok. I had a nurse visit on Tuesday afternoon to check the blood pressure, and it was ok, 120 -something over 82 or 84, so I'm going to continue taking the medication as is for now. So it looks like the BP raise was in part due to the pregnancy but in part due to genetics and the fact that the women in my family have hypertension that appears around age 40.

Today's pics: John with SB, who will be 16 in December (hard to believe); John with his Daddy, relaxing after our outing- yes, Bill needs a haircut, he knows! And what is with you people even noticing that Bill's shorts are up like that? The point of the picture is John, not Bill (although he says he's too sexy for his shorts.... cue music....)
