Haven't updated the blog in a while, I know! It's not like I've been busy or anything....
Nothing exciting has been going on, except the usual baby stuff, which is exciting in itself. The little man has been getting bigger, of course, about 13 lbs, 7 oz, and is also expanding his repertoire of sounds. Once he gets a new sound, he practices it regularly for a couple of days. It is very cute.
Last weekend we went to a breakfast buffet at the Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House restaurant near us. They have sit down service (yes, sit down!) and you can order burgers (yes, burgers!), and on Saturday they have an all you can eat breakfast buffet until 1. Since I can eat breakfast for any meal, we went for lunch and ate a ton. It was delicious. We also went by Babies R Us and exchanged a three stage seat thing; we actually bought one Friday night but it was missing some parts, so we had to go back out and exchange it. John will sit it in for about 10 minutes before he gets cranky- he likes the toys that are on the tray.
John also has an odd sense of humor. Wednesday we were watching Jeopardy and John was sitting on his daddy's lap. Bill gave an answer to a clue, and John thought it was hysterical and has been laughing at the phrase ever since. "What's the phrase??" you ask..... well, it is "Chicken Fried Steak". We have no clue why John thinks it is funny, but if you say it a certain way, he cracks up. Even if you say it in a regular voice, John smiles at it. The other day he was laughing so hard and arching his back with glee at the way Bill was saying "chicken fried steak."
Thursday we took our friend Jim out for his birthday dinner. John was very cute and then fell asleep. Friday I took the day off to go to the eye doctor and then hang out with my boys. I took the younger of the boys to my school for a visit at the end of the day so the kids in my class could see him, and so all the teachers who wanted to see him could.
The weather is much cooler today than the past couple of days. It is nice and I'm hoping it stays cool with highs only in the 70s or 60s. John has some cute clothes that we'd like to have him wear before he outgrows them!
Today's pictures: John in his Halloween jammies, a gift from his auntie RoRo last year when we first found out we were pregnant- they say "I want my Mummy"; John today in one pair of corduroy overalls, this pair a hand-me-down from his friend Ryan (see blog from July).
