Baby Shower

John and I went to our baby shower yesterday afternoon. It was given by my friends Anna (see blog from July 17), Shannon, and Amanda and was originally scheduled for May 17, but had to be rescheduled due to John's arrival on May 16th. We had a lot of fun, it was very casual because I didn't want to dress up and nobody else did, either, because it has been too hot here!

John met his newest friend, Van, who is the son of my friend Michelle. Van was born July 10 weighing 9lbs, 2oz. Michelle and I were excited that our boys were going to be due 2 weeks apart, and we think it is funny now that even though John is 10 weeks older than Van, they are about the same size now.

I hardly saw John at all during the shower, every one there wanted to hold him! Most of the people there teach or taught at Kemp, which is where I taught when Bill and I were originally trying to get pregnant, doing fertility treatments, and then being told it 'wasn't likely' I could get pregnant using my own eggs. They were a great support during that time and everyone was excited, obviously, that I had our little miracle boy!!

We weighed John before his bath yesterday morning, and he was 9 lbs, 9.5oz! He is just so precious!!

This is most likely my last update until next Saturday! Don't harass me, please, I'm going to be busy with the first week of school and all that!

Today's pics: Shower cake; John and me with Michelle and Van, our sleeping boys; John and Van, twins? You'll notice that Van is wearing the same "Daddy Rocks" outfit that John has- see July 31st for picture- and I almost put John in that same outfit for the shower (Bill really wanted me to) but I decided not to. It would have been really funny if I had! :)

The boys look less than excited about a party with the ladies. Guess they were tired out from entertaining. Hope you have a great week!

That is the cutest picture of you two with those boys. Its hard to believe how much John has grown. He's getting so big. Hope things go well this week.
