Back to school

Well, I survived my first week back at school, and Bill and John survived without me. It was tough! My goal all week was to get to work by 7am, even though I didn't have to be this week. I only made it to school by 7 on Thursday and Friday, but I now know what time I need to get up to make it there on time.

Monday was tough, I had to go home to get my baby fix at lunch. Bill was sweet and had a sandwich waiting for me, so I could eat and nurse at the same time. I only had an hour for lunch, which includes the 10 min. home and the 10 min. back, so it was rushed, but it helped me make it through the day.

Tuesday I didn't get to see John at all until I came home that afternoon because of meetings all day. I had to use my breast pump at school, but I found a great spot in a workroom right off my classroom, so I'm set for next week when school is in session. I'm planning on pumping daily at lunch and also right after school.

Wednesday Bill brought John to school so all the teachers could see/hold John. They really enjoyed it, and Bill had a free lunch (PTA served us lunch that day) and yummy chocolate cake. And i got to nurse John, which is always nice to be able to do instead of pumping.

Thursday was a really really long day. I had to get my room ready and was at school until 5pm, but since Jim was helping me, too, we were able to get everything done for Meet and Greet Friday morning. Bill was very glad when I finally got home.

Friday morning was great with Meet and Greet. Looks like I'll have a nice class. We'll have 18 kids, 10 girls/8 boys. I was able to get home around 3 that afternoon, and Bill and I took John out for a bit to go shopping. Carolyn and Ro, I bought Breaking Dawn and started reading it when John fell asleep on me. It's going to take me forever to get through it, but I'll manage.

Sleep has been ok, but not great. John just won't get on a sleep schedule. I think I managed 5 hours of sleep most nights. Last night was great, John and I went to bed around 10:30 and got up at 8, but of course that include 2 nursing times when he is up for about 45 minutes to an hour. Thursday and Friday mornings went smoothly for getting ready. I got up at 5:20, showered/got ready and then nursed John around 6, and was able to leave by 6:50 to get to work by 7. Hopefully that will work next week when the students are there and I really have to be there on time!

Today was my postponed baby shower (that was originally scheduled for May 17).
I'll blog about that tomorrow.

Today's pictures: John being attacked by an alligator and managing to wrestle free and pin the monster. The gator was a gift from one of my students from last school year.

The blogs hit a long dry spell but it does not look like John missed many feedings. Hope Bill can find time to write a blog.

Glad you made it through the week and hope things continue to go well. We were thinking about you all the time and I know your ears were burning. We may need our baby fix before too long. We're enjoyiing our week with Molly this week.

Glad to see that John was able to overcome the monster. He is getting so big and cuter by the minute. Can't wait to come back and see you all. I know that this past week was hard (getting back into the mode of going off to school) but sounds like you, Bill and John made it ok. Love the pictures.

What, Poppy? You don't like my writing? We all know Bill has nothing to do with writing this blog, so chances are he won't be blogging anytime soon. He doesn't even like to answer emails!

Bill can send some more pics though. The photo album you gave me for Christmas is full and I need to get a new one the next time Emily and I go to Hobby Lobby.
