Weekend Update

Just finished another busy week. Sunday our across-the-street neighbors came by to bring a baby gift and meet the little man. Anne volunteered to be John's Georgia grandma and has offered to babysit when we need a night out. John seemed to like her and smiled alot at her when she was holding him. Of course, he had just finished eating, and he smiles alot when he has a full belly. Bill had a doctor's appt. Wednesday afternoon- just a routine office visit so he could get his prescriptions for his BP/cholesterol meds renewed. We had our Parent Orientation/Open House on Thursday evening at school. It was at 5:30 and I decided to stay through from the end of the school day, so Bill brought John by (along with dinner for me) at 4:00 so I could see the little monkey and nurse him.

John continues to do well. He keeps gaining weight, about an ounce a day! This morning's weight before his bath (but right after I had nursed him, and he needs to poop) was 10 lbs, 10.5oz!!! I'm sure that is a little high, but good gravy he's huge! People keep talking, when they see him, about how little he is, but they really have no clue. Those who visited in the hospital know what a mini-baby he was back in May and June!

We recently had the monitor people come out and take the disc from the monitor (they left us a new one) so the info could be downloaded and analyzed. The pulminologist from the monitor company called Bill with the results, which were also sent to our doctor's office. The pulminologist said there were only two incidents/heart rate drops that looked like they were anything to be concerned with, and they happened way back in June and early July. He recommended we keep John on the monitor and have the info downloaded again right before his 4 month check up, which is scheduled for Sept. 16. We'll decide with John's pediatrician then whether to continue with the monitor or not. We still only hook John up at night which seems to be fine.

John is getting close to laughing but is not quite there. He makes some little laugh-like noises when we're talking to him and he's all smiling and happy. We haven't had any recent nights where John is awake in the middle of the night (knock on wood); however, many nights he is up with Bill until 11 or a little later (which is fine with Bill, because then John sleeps in a little in the morning- apparently neither one is a morning person like I am!). All in all, things are going great!

Today's pictures: John in his swing, getting sleepy; John looking good in a new outfit (no, we didn't buy it, we hardly ever buy clothes, this was a shower gift)

Today's video, John on his playmat, looking at the handsome guy in the mirror

I always knew yoou and Bill would have a beautiful child, but John has exceeded all my expectations. He is absolute perfection.

Hey there, once again I missed talking to you all this weekend. Every week you can see the changes in John. He is so precious. Can't wait to get back down and mess with him. Glad things are going well for both of his parents. Love all of you.
